This page explains, in plain language, what data the Audio Composer website and app use, and why.
This website
audiocomposer.io uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site and to measure our marketing. They can collect things like the pages you visit, the buttons you click, your browser and device type and your approximate location, and they use cookies to do it.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, these cookies are only used after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Buying Audio Composer
Purchases are handled by Stripe through Stripe Managed Payments, with Link (Stripe's checkout) acting as the merchant of record. Stripe takes care of checkout, payment, sales tax and VAT, fraud checks and receipts, under its own privacy policy. We never see your full card details. Stripe shares with us what we need to deliver and support your purchase: your email address, the amount, and the Stripe ids of your checkout, payment and customer record.
Your Pro trial and activating Audio Composer Pro
Our license service (hosted on Cloudflare) keeps a record of your purchase so you can activate Audio Composer Pro with your email address. It stores your purchase email, the Stripe ids above, the amount and date, and whether the purchase was refunded or disputed. For each computer you activate, it stores the computer's name (for example STUDIO-PC), one-way hashes of a few of its hardware ids (the Windows machine id, the system UUID, the BIOS serial number and the system disk's volume serial; never the ids themselves), and when it was activated and last checked.
If you start the free Pro trial, it stores the email address you started it with, the computer's name and hardware id hashes, and when the trial started and ends, so that each person and computer gets one trial. To stop trial abuse, it also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address (and of its network range), for at most 30 days, only to stop trial abuse; your IP address itself is never stored.
When you ask for a sign-in code we email it to you and keep only a scrambled copy for 15 minutes. Rate limits keep your email address and a one-way hash of your IP address for a day or two. We use all of this only to run your trial or license and to help you when you contact us. We keep purchase and trial records for as long as you use Audio Composer, and you can ask us to delete them.
The Audio Composer extension contacts the license service when you activate or start a trial, every few days to confirm Pro (during a trial, when it starts and every 12 hours), and when you manage your computers. We send emails (your download link and sign-in codes) through Cloudflare Email Service.
The Audio Composer app
The Audio Composer extension runs on your own computer, inside Premiere Pro or After Effects. Your sound library, your files and your folder names are not uploaded anywhere. The only thing it sends about your computer is the license check described above.
Generating sounds with ElevenLabs
When you use Generate, the extension sends your prompt and settings to ElevenLabs using your own ElevenLabs API key, and the results are saved to your library on your computer. ElevenLabs handles that request under its own terms and privacy policy, and it uses your ElevenLabs credits.
Connecting an AI app
If you connect an AI app such as Claude, Codex or Cursor, that app talks to the extension on your computer. What you ask it, and what it reads back from the extension (such as the names of sounds), is handled by that app and its provider under their own terms.
